A comforting dish featuring tender chicken and fluffy rice in a rich, creamy sauce, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 2 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 cup of frozen peas
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Sauté the aromatics: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan, cooking until they become translucent and fragrant.
  2. Brown the chicken: Season the chicken breasts with paprika, salt, and pepper. Place them in the skillet, cooking until they are browned on both sides.
  3. Prepare the rice mixture: Once the chicken is browned, carefully remove it from the skillet. In the same skillet, add the rice along with the chicken broth. Bring this mixture to a boil.
  4. Simmer for perfection: Reduce the heat to low and return the chicken to the skillet. Cover and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender.
  5. Create the creamy sauce: Stir in the heavy cream and frozen peas, bringing everything to temperature.
  6. Garnish and serve: Finish it off with a sprinkle of fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider substituting half of the heavy cream with milk. Add red pepper flakes for some heat or mushrooms for added texture.
