A delightful blend of soft, chewy cookies topped with rich, fudgy brownies, Homemade Brookies are sure to be a hit with everyone.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup brownie mix
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl, then gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions, adding the 1/4 cup of water.
  7. Spread the cookie dough in an even layer at the bottom of the prepared pan.
  8. Pour the brownie mixture on top of the cookie dough, evenly distributing it.
  9. Swirl the two mixtures together for a marbled effect using a knife or skewer.
  10. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  11. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
