Delightful hand pies filled with savory ground beef and vegetables wrapped in flaky pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup diced vegetables (like carrots or peas)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried herbs (like thyme or oregano)
  • 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until softened. Stir in the diced vegetables, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and herbs. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut them into circles or squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each pastry piece.
  5. Fold the pastry over to create a pocket, and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  6. Brush the tops of your hand pies with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and irresistible.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Thaw puff pastry in the fridge before use. Do not overfill the pockets.
