Deliciously sweet and savory grilled chicken marinated in a homemade teriyaki sauce, perfect for summer evenings.

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the Marinade: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken in a container, pour marinade over, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat while the chicken marinates.
  4. Prepare the Grill Grate: Brush the grill grate with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Grill the Chicken: Remove chicken from marinade, grill for 6-7 minutes per side or until reaching 165°F (74°C).
  6. Rest the Chicken: After grilling, let chicken rest for a few minutes.
  7. Slice and Serve: Slice or serve whole, topping with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes
