Deliciously sweet and buttery glazed carrots, a perfect side dish for any meal.

  • 1 pound fresh carrots, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (can substitute with maple syrup or honey)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the carrots. Start by peeling your fresh carrots and cutting them into 1-inch pieces.
  2. Boil the carrots. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Carefully add the prepared carrots and a sprinkle of salt. Let them cook for about 5 minutes.
  3. Drain and set aside. Once the carrots are cooked, drain them in a colander.
  4. Melt the butter. In the same pot, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  5. Sweeten the pot. Add the brown sugar to the melted butter and stir well.
  6. Combine the carrots and sauce. Gently toss the drained carrots back into the pot.
  7. Season to perfection. Taste your glazed carrots and add a pinch of salt and a dash of black pepper if desired.
  8. Garnish and serve. Transfer your glazed carrots to a serving dish, sprinkle with fresh herbs, and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
