Delicious and festive gingerbread cookies, perfect for sharing during the holiday season.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsulfured molasses
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Combine in the molasses and egg, mixing until well combined.
  5. Mix the dry flour mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Shape the dough into balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are firm and the tops have crinkled.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or freeze for up to three months.
