  • 1 lb chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Coat the chicken pieces with cornstarch in a bowl, ensuring they are evenly covered.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken pieces and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the same pan and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in chicken broth, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, hoisin sauce, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
  5. Return the browned chicken to the pan and toss everything to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve the General Tso’s Chicken hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
