Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)
  • 1 packet instant yeast (about 2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil (plus some for drizzling)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • â…“ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients and tools—mixing bowl, measuring cups, and a baking sheet.
  2. Combine the warm water and instant yeast in a spacious mixing bowl. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Add the all-purpose flour, salt, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and olive oil. Mix until the dough starts to come together.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  5. Shape the kneaded dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl, covering it to rise for about an hour.
  6. Transfer the risen dough onto an oiled baking sheet and stretch it into a rectangle or circle, about ½ inch thick.
  7. Drizzle olive oil over the shaped dough, then sprinkle with dried oregano and coarse sea salt.
  8. Cover the dough again and let it rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and crisp on the edges.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
