A nostalgic and easy dessert that combines cake and fruit cocktail for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of cake mix (yellow or white)
  • 1 can of fruit cocktail (drained)
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter
  • 1 egg (optional for a richer taste)
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Layer the drained fruit cocktail evenly across the bottom of a baking dish.
  3. Combine the cake mix with the melted butter and egg in a bowl until thick and pourable.
  4. Pour the cake mixture over the fruit cocktail.
  5. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes
