A simple and delightful dump cake that combines a yellow cake mix with fruit cocktail for a nostalgic dessert experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1 can of fruit cocktail (drained)
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1 cup of water or juice from fruit cocktail

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Layer the drained fruit cocktail evenly in a baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit.
  4. Pour the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much surface as possible.
  5. Add chopped nuts and shredded coconut on top (if using).
  6. Pour the water or fruit juice evenly over the mixture.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
