A delightful sweet and spicy chicken dish that’s quick to prepare and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, ensuring it’s hot enough to give the chicken a lovely sear.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the skillet, seasoning them generously with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until they are browned and fully cooked, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  3. Grab a bowl to mix the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked chicken and stir well to coat every piece.
  5. Allow the chicken and sauce to cook together for an additional 2-3 minutes, letting the sauce thicken.
  6. Finish off your Firecracker Chicken with a sprinkle of chopped green onions right before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, add chopped bell peppers or snap peas. To reduce spiciness, omit red pepper flakes.
