Delicious and festive Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls, perfect for holiday brunches with a creamy texture and warm spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup eggnog
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon eggnog (for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly and frothy.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients: Mix in the melted butter, eggnog, and egg until well combined and smooth.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: Gradually add flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; knead the mixture until you achieve a soft and smooth dough.
  4. First rise: Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm spot for about 60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough: After the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  6. Fill with sweetness: Spread melted butter over the dough and generously sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top.
  7. Shape the rolls: Roll up the dough tightly from one end to the other and cut it into 12 even rolls.
  8. Second rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  9. Bake to perfection: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Create the frosting: For the frosting, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar together, adding eggnog and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  11. Finish with frosting: Drizzle the luscious frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve.
