Delightful sugar cookies that are crispy on the outside and soft-chewy on the inside, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth, then beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  4. Blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and flatten gently on ungreased pans.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden.
  7. Let the cookies cool on wire racks.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them for up to three months.
