A simple yet flavorful au jus sauce that perfectly complements prime rib and other cuts of beef.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine your ingredients in a saucepan: beef broth, red wine, onion, garlic, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Allow it to reduce for about 15-20 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve hot over sliced prime rib.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, swap soy sauce with a gluten-free alternative. This sauce can be made in advance and refrigerated for up to 3 days.
