A creamy, luscious frosting that transforms ordinary cookies into delightful treats.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (not melted)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (or whole milk)
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • Small pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Soften the butter by letting it sit at room temperature for about 1 hour.
  2. Beat the butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until pale and fluffy (1–2 minutes).
  3. Add the vanilla extract and salt, mixing briefly to combine.
  4. Incorporate the powdered sugar in three parts, mixing on low speed after each addition.
  5. Add the heavy cream one tablespoon at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Taste the frosting and adjust the consistency or sweetness as needed.

Notes

This frosting is versatile and can be adjusted by adding cocoa powder for a chocolate version or other extracts for different flavors.
