Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients in one spot so you’re ready to create magic in the kitchen.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium-sized skillet over medium heat.
  3. Combine the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl.
  4. Add the pecan halves to the skillet and stir to coat with butter.
  5. Sprinkle the sugar and spice mixture over the pecans while stirring.
  6. Caramelize the pecans for about 5 minutes on medium-low heat, stirring frequently.
  7. Add vanilla extract once removed from heat.
  8. Cool the pecans on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
