Fluffy and delightful classic donuts that are easy to make and bring joy to any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl, combining flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. Whisk wet ingredients in another bowl including milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed, avoiding over-mixing.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Cut donuts using a donut cutter or round cookie cutters from the dough.
  6. Fry donuts in hot oil until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Drain the donuts on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. Optionally coat or glaze the donuts as desired.

Notes

Make sure your oil is properly heated before frying to avoid sogginess. Experiment with flavors by adding chocolate chips or fruits.
