A hearty, homemade hamburger soup packed with flavor, perfect for comforting family meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground halal beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 medium carrots, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, undrained (14.5 ounces)
  • 1 cup green beans, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Aromatics: In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground halal beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Once it’s starting to brown, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Mix in the Vegetables: Add the diced carrots and celery to the pot, stirring well to combine with the beef and onions. Allow them to cook for a few minutes, letting the flavors meld and the vegetables begin to soften.
  3. Pour in the Broth and Tomatoes: Now it’s time for the liquid gold! Pour in the beef broth and add the undrained diced tomatoes. Stir everything together, ensuring the ingredients are well-mixed.
  4. Add the Green Beans and Herbs: Toss in the green beans, dried basil, and dried oregano. Season with salt and pepper, adjusting to your taste. Give it a good stir to incorporate all the flavors.
  5. Simmer to Perfection: Bring the soup to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes. This is where the magic happens as the flavors deepen and blend beautifully.
  6. Finish and Serve: After simmering, taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Ladle the soup into bowls and, if desired, sprinkle with fresh parsley or green onions for a touch of brightness.
