Savory, slow-braised beef in a rich au jus sauce, served on hoagie rolls for a comforting home-cooked meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef roast
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Provolone cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the beef roast generously with salt and pepper, then place it in the crockpot.
  2. Add the sliced onion atop the roast.
  3. Mix the au jus gravy mix with the beef broth until combined.
  4. Pour the gravy mixture over the roast and onions.
  5. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until fork-tender.
  6. Shred the beef using two forks.
  7. Assemble sandwiches with shredded beef in hoagie rolls, topped with provolone cheese if desired.

Notes

Serve with crispy fries or a green salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
