A comforting and flavorful chicken dish that’s perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners, known for its rich savory flavors and creamy sauce.

  • 4 chicken breasts (skinless or skin-on)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 cup white wine
  • 0.5 cup water or 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons flat-leaf parsley or fresh basil (chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons sun-dried tomatoes (diced and drained)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 23 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granules
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon (if using wine)
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water, optional for thickening)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil (optional)
  • 1 cup sour cream or heavy cream (225g)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
  2. Sear the chicken by melting butter and olive oil in a pan and browning the chicken skin side down.
  3. Transfer the chicken to the slow cooker, pouring in the white wine and water mixture (or chicken broth), and adding sun-dried tomatoes, sweet paprika, garlic granules, and chicken bouillon.
  4. Slow cook on LOW for 90 minutes to 2 hours until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  5. Thicken the sauce if desired, adding a cornstarch slurry 10 minutes before cooking time ends.
  6. Stir in sour cream or heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and fresh herbs once chicken is cooked.
  7. Serve the chicken with rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

This dish stores well for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or can be frozen for up to 3 months.
