Delight in these easy and delicious Coconut Dream Bars, featuring a crunchy coconut topping and creamy condensed milk layer that evoke childhood memories and bring joy to any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Combine the flour, shredded coconut, vanilla extract, and salt; mix until well combined.
  4. Press half of the coconut mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a base.
  5. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the base.
  6. Crumble the remaining coconut mixture on top and sprinkle with chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
