Delightful cinnamon sugar cookies that are soft, buttery, and rolled in a sweet cinnamon-sugar coating, perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Incorporate the vanilla extract and the large egg.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gradually.
  6. Make the cinnamon-sugar coating by mixing together the 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon.
  7. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Prepare baking sheets lined with parchment paper and place the cookie balls on them.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. They can be frozen for up to three months.
