Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 tablespoons milk (to achieve desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Combine the warm milk, melted butter, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle the yeast over the liquid and let it sit until foamy.
  2. Mix in the Dry Ingredients: Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until the dough begins to take shape.
  3. Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Allow the Dough to Rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Make the Filling: Combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a bowl, and mix in softened butter.
  6. Roll and Slice: Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread the butter, and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Roll into a log and slice into 12 pieces.
  7. Second Rise: Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare the Frosting: Whip together cream cheese, melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla, adding milk for consistency.
  10. Top and Serve: Drizzle the frosting over warm rolls and enjoy!
