Deliciously fluffy cinnamon rolls perfect for breakfast or dessert, filled with a cinnamon-sugar swirl and topped with a sweet glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened, for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the dry ingredients by mixing flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Add the frothy yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients; mix until dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour, or until doubled.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon over it.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from the long side, then cut into equal pieces (1.5 to 2 inches thick).
  8. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix powdered sugar with 2-3 tbsp of milk to make a glaze and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
