Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the milk and vanilla extract into the butter-sugar mixture, mixing thoroughly.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  5. Pour half of the prepared batter into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy, spooning it over the first layer of batter.
  7. Layer the remaining batter over the cream cheese filling.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk for the frosting.
  10. Spread the frosting generously across the cooled cake, slice, serve, and enjoy!
