  • 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and prepare the pie crust.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until frothy.
  3. Heat the milk and cream in a saucepan over medium heat until simmering.
  4. Temper the egg mixture by slowly adding the hot milk while whisking.
  5. Thicken the custard over low heat, whisking for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Pour the custard into the unbaked pie crust.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes until the center is set and edges are golden.
  8. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
