Delightful cookies that combine the cake-like texture of muffins with the chewiness of cookies, perfect for chocolate lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt together.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop a small amount of dough, flatten it, and place a dollop of cream cheese in the center.
  7. Cover the cream cheese with more dough and shape it into a ball.
  8. Place the cookies on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are firm.
  9. Let them cool before serving and enjoy your thick, cookie-muffin hybrids!

Notes

Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature for easy mixing. Don’t overmix the cookie dough; mix until just combined for the best texture. You can add nuts or dried fruit to the dough for extra flavor.
