A simple yet sophisticated chocolate mousse recipe that is light and decadent.

Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 4 large eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over simmering water.
  2. Prepare the egg yolks by beating them with the sugar until pale and thick.
  3. Incorporate the melted chocolate into the egg yolk mixture.
  4. Whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  5. Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
  6. Combine the whipped cream and egg whites into the chocolate mixture carefully.
  7. Chill the mousse in serving cups for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with fresh raspberries, whipped cream, or chocolate shavings. Ensure to store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
