A silky and luscious chocolate cream pie with a flaky crust, topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Additional whipped cream or chocolate shavings for topping

Instructions

  1. Combine the milk, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly until the mixture thickens.
  2. Add the chopped chocolate and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  3. Pour the chocolate filling into the pre-baked pie crust and let it cool to room temperature.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
  5. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes
