Classic chocolate chip cookies with golden edges and a soft center, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just mixed.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Scoop the dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake the cookies for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze the dough for up to two months.
