A comforting, one-pan meal featuring ground beef, cabbage, and shiitake mushrooms, offering rich flavors and quick preparation.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups cabbage, sliced
  • 1 cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Toss in the ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in the sliced shiitake mushrooms and cook for another 3-4 minutes until tender.
  5. Add the sliced cabbage, stirring until it wilts and softens, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil, stirring well to coat all ingredients.
  7. Remove from heat, toss in the chopped green onions, and stir.
  8. Serve the stir fry over bowls of warm cooked rice.

Notes

Use day-old rice for better texture. Feel free to customize with other vegetables or proteins.
