A simple yet nostalgic dessert combining cherries and cake for a delightful treat.

  • 1 can of cherries (about 21 ounces, drained)
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix (15.25 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup of butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the canned cherries evenly in a baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the cherries.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top if desired.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes.
  7. Cool slightly before serving.
