Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix the fresh or frozen cherries with sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  3. Prepare the bottom pie crust in a pie pan and pour in the cherry mixture.
  4. Add small pieces of butter on top of the filling.
  5. Seal the pie with the top crust, crimping the edges and making slits for steam.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  7. Cool before serving to allow the filling to set.
