Delightful and easy-to-make puff pastry swirls filled with savory ham and gooey cheese, perfect for snacks or appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 4 slices ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (any cheese you prefer)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
  3. Spread the Dijon mustard evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Arrange the ham slices over the mustard for even coverage.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese and black pepper on top.
  6. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log and pinch the seam to seal.
  7. Cut the log into 12 slices, about 1 cm (1/2 inch) thick.
  8. Whisk the egg and milk together and brush it over the tops of the swirls.
  9. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden and puffed.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to a month.
