A comforting casserole combining savory ground beef, crunchy cabbage, and gooey mozzarella cheese, perfect for family gatherings or meal prep.

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 head cabbage, chopped roughly
  • 1 can (15 oz / 425g) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1.5 cups (170g) shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion in a large skillet over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink and drained of fat.
  3. Sauté the chopped cabbage in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Mix in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 baking dish.
  6. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes until the cheese is golden-brown and bubbling.
  8. Broil for an additional 2 minutes if desired for extra crispiness.

Notes

Use lean ground beef for a lighter dish. Feel free to add other vegetables or swap the meat for a vegetarian alternative.
