A moist and rich Caramel Layer Cake layered with velvety salted caramel frosting, perfect for celebrations and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup salted caramel frosting
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  10. Spread a layer of salted caramel frosting between each cake layer and drizzle caramel sauce on top.
  11. Frost the outside of the cake with remaining frosting and drizzle more caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for added delight. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
