A delightful Italian appetizer featuring fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil on toasted bread, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Baguette or Italian bread
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese
  • Tomatoes
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  3. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and drizzle them generously with olive oil.
  4. Toast in the oven until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Chop the tomatoes and mozzarella into small pieces.
  6. Mix them gently with torn basil leaves.
  7. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, then season with salt and pepper.
  8. Spoon the tomato and mozzarella mixture onto the toasted bread slices.
  9. Serve immediately while the bread is warm and toppings are fresh.

Notes
