A classic dessert that combines sweet and tart fresh blueberries in a flaky crust, perfect for gatherings or enjoying at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Mix until blueberries are coated.
  3. Pour the blueberry mixture into the pie crust, and dot with butter.
  4. Cover with another pie crust or crumb topping, if desired.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store in the refrigerator, covered, for 3-4 days, or freeze for 2-3 months.
