Soft, fluffy rolls filled with a gooey blueberry cream filling, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and instant yeast.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. Knead the Dough: Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the Dough Rise: Cover with a towel and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Make the Blueberry Filling: Combine the blueberries, cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl and mix until smooth.
  6. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll Out the Dough: Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  8. Roll It Up: From one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log.
  9. Slice the Dough: Slice into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
  10. Let Them Rise Again: Cover the rolls and let rise for 30 minutes.
  11. Bake the Rolls: Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Cool and Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for a perfect dessert experience. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
