A delicious Japanese dish featuring black cod marinated in a sweet and savory miso glaze, perfect for dinner parties or a cozy meal.

  • 2 black cod fillets
  • 1/4 cup white miso paste
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix together the miso paste, sake, mirin, and brown sugar until smooth.
  2. Marinate the black cod fillets in the miso mixture for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Remove the fillets from the marinade and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with rice and vegetables.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate the fish overnight. Avoid overcooking to keep the fish moist.
