Easy and flavorful puff pastry pizza hot pockets filled with cheesy goodness and savory toppings, perfect for any meal or snack.

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Beef Pepperoni
  • Cooked Ground Beef
  • Finely Diced Bell Peppers
  • Mushrooms
  • Onions
  • Black Olives
  • Cooked and Crumbled Italian Sausage (beef or turkey)
  • Spinach (sautéed and squeezed dry)
  • Ricotta Cheese
  • Egg Wash (1 egg with a splash of water or milk)
  • Optional Seasonings (Italian seasoning, garlic powder, red pepper flakes)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your puff pastry by ensuring it is properly thawed but still cold. Gently unroll one sheet onto a lightly floured surface or parchment paper.
  2. Cut the puff pastry sheet into even rectangles, usually two large rectangles per sheet.
  3. Layer about 1-2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on one half of each pastry rectangle, leaving a clean border. Then layer with 1/4 to 1/3 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and chosen fillings.
  4. Seal the pockets by folding the plain half over the filling, aligning edges. Press down to seal, and crimp with a fork.
  5. Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for the sealed hot pockets.
  6. Whisk together one egg with a tablespoon of water or milk and brush the tops of each hot pocket. Make 2-3 small slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a side salad or warm marinara sauce for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
