Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk together the flour and baking soda in a bowl.
  4. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  5. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  8. Scoop generous portions of dough onto the baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  10. Cool on wire racks after a few minutes.
