  • 1 can of beer (or soda)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  2. Mix together olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create a rub.
  3. Rinse and pat dry the chicken, then rub the spice mixture all over the chicken.
  4. Open the beer can and drink or pour out half of it.
  5. Place the can inside the chicken’s cavity and set the chicken upright on a grill-safe pan.
  6. Place the chicken on the grill and close the lid.
  7. Grill for about 60 to 90 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Remove from the grill and let rest for 10 minutes before carving.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken with the spice rub for a few hours or overnight. Use a meat thermometer to ensure it’s cooked through.
