A delicious twist on classic fried rice, elevated with a spicy, creamy bang bang sauce and a medley of vibrant vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp or chicken
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell pepper)
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons bang bang sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the sesame oil in a large pan over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Add the mixed vegetables to the pan, sautéing until tender.
  3. Push the sautéed vegetables to one side of the pan and scramble the eggs.
  4. Stir in the cooked rice along with your choice of shrimp or chicken.
  5. Drizzle in the soy sauce and bang bang sauce, mixing everything together.
  6. Season with salt and pepper and garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

Day-old rice works best as it’s drier and prevents clumping. Feel free to mix proteins or go vegetarian with tofu.
