A simple and nostalgic banana pudding recipe that layers creamy pudding, ripe bananas, and crunchy vanilla wafers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 package of vanilla wafers
  • Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt until smooth.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Create layers in a serving dish: start with vanilla wafers, then sliced bananas, followed by the pudding mixture. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with the pudding.
  5. Garnish the top with a dollop of whipped cream.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 60 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for the best flavor, and chill before serving for optimal taste. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
