A rich and creamy dessert combining layers of vanilla wafers, ripe bananas, and fluffy whipped cream, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 3/4 cups of milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 box of vanilla wafers
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Whisk the dry ingredients in a saucepan until thoroughly combined.
  2. Gradually add the milk into the dry mixture, ensuring no lumps remain.
  3. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened—about 10 minutes.
  4. Prepare the eggs by beating them in a separate bowl.
  5. Combine the tempered egg mixture back into the saucepan with the pudding base.
  6. Add the vanilla extract to the mixture for added flavor.
  7. Layer the dessert in a dish starting with vanilla wafers, followed by sliced bananas and pudding.
  8. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used up.
  9. Top with whipped cream for a light finish.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours to set.

Notes

Serve chilled with additional banana slices or crushed vanilla wafers on top. Can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
