Comforting baked ziti with layers of pasta, ricotta, mozzarella, and marinara for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
  3. Mix the ricotta, 1 cup of mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  4. Combine the cooked ziti with the marinara sauce, then fold in the cheese mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with the remaining mozzarella.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Can be made ahead and baked straight from the fridge.
