Baked Falafel

Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these baked falafels are a wholesome twist on a classic favorite, perfect for any meal of the day.

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper in a food processor. Pulse until combined but still slightly chunky.
  3. Add flour and pulse again until the mixture holds together.
  4. Form the mixture into small balls or patties.
  5. Place the formed falafels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using dried chickpeas soaked overnight or adjusting spices to your liking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
