A heartwarming apple pie filled with tender apples, cinnamon, and a flaky crust, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 package double-crust pie pastry

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice in a large bowl.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie plate.
  4. Fill the crust with the apple mixture and dot with butter.
  5. Roll out the second crust, place it over the filling, trim, and seal edges.
  6. Cut slits in the top crust and bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce to 350°F (175°C) and bake for another 35 to 45 minutes.

Notes

Allow pie to cool for at least an hour before slicing for cleaner slices. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
