A delightful twist on traditional barbecue, featuring chicken coated with a creamy and tangy Alabama white sauce.

  • 4 chicken pieces (legs, thighs, or breasts)
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, sugar, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create the Alabama white sauce.
  2. Reserve half of the sauce for serving.
  3. Coat the chicken pieces thoroughly with the sauce and marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium heat.
  5. Grill the chicken for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and juices run clear.
  6. Brush with additional sauce while grilling for extra flavor.
  7. Serve with the reserved sauce on the side.

Notes

Marinate longer for enhanced flavor, and keep an eye on grill heat to prevent burning.
